A Gamewell Cast Iron Fire Alarm Station, Patented 1924 - A Gamewell Style 24, Number 53 Cast Iron Fire Alarm Station, patented January 7, 1924. This vintage, wall-mounted station is primarily constructed of painted red cast iron with brass or bronze elements and internal metal components. The design features a peaked pediment top adorned with a stylized fist and lightning bolt emblem, marked ”REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.”. The front displays a hinged, off-white panel marked ”PULL HANDLE”, ”PAT. JAN. 7, 1924”, and ”FIRE ALARM STATION”, with an interior revealing ”TO OPEN” and ”FOR FIRE PULL LEVER”. Below this, a brass or bronze plaque shows the number ”53”, followed by ”FIRE ALARM STATION” and ”THE GAMEWELL CO. NEW YORK” at the bottom. Inside the main door, an inner red door is marked ”PULL HANDLE DOWN ONCE O LET GO”. The item appears structurally complete. Height: 17 inches
