Bidspirit auction | Large Collection of Sterling Silver
Large Collection of Sterling Silver and Vermeil Jewelry Featuring Gemstone Rings, Cameos, and Locket 1.96 Ozt - A substantial lot comprising twelve distinct pieces of jewelry, primarily constructed from sterling silver (925 purity) or sterling silver vermeil. The collection includes nine rings, one pair of dangle earrings, one loose cameo fob, and one necklace assembly. The majority of the items are white metal, marked ”STERLING” or ”925.” The rings feature a variety of colored stones: one ring is set with a large oval purple stone, which appears to be amethyst, surrounded by clear stone accents. Another ring features an oval green stone, likely a simulated stone, set in a heavily detailed signet style mounting. A teardrop-shaped orange stone, appearing to be amber, is set in a sterling silver scroll mounting. A small oval dark red stone, likely garnet, is set in a simple bypass ring. Other rings include a rectangular cushion-cut clear stone set in a halo mounting, a round light brown/champagne stone set in an octagonal filigree mounting, and a wide band ring in yellow metal (vermeil) marked ”925 GA,” channel-set with alternating rectangular clear stones and square dark blue stones, likely sapphire simulants. The cameo pieces—the dangle earrings and the loose fob—feature three matching carved shell or agate cameos depicting female portraits, set in oval white metal bezels. The necklace consists of a hinged, cube-shaped locket, confirmed internally with a ”925” stamp, attached to a box chain. Hallmarks include STERLING, 925, and 925 GA. Weight: 1.96 Ozt
