Item Overview
Description:
A Collection of Six Patinated Metal Souvenir Spoons with Gilt Bowls in Fitted Case
A collection of six antique souvenir spoons presented in their original fitted presentation case. The spoons feature heavily ornamented, patinated silver or silver-plated handles. The bowls of all six spoons are finished with bright gilding. The figural finials display two distinct designs: some depict a crowned heraldic shield bearing three fleurs-de-lis, suggesting French regional or royal association, while others feature architectural or turreted elements. Several of the gilded spoon bowls bear engraved cursive inscriptions, including the legible example "Da Passi." The presentation case features a dark, textured exterior and is lined internally with green velvet and cream satin. The cream satin lining of the lid is marked in gold with the retailer’s address: Albion House / 32 QUAI GAMBETTA / BOULOGNE S/MER, indicating the set was sold by a vendor in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France.
