Passing of Saint John of God Retablo - This Mexican devotional retablo, executed in oil on tin, Style of Juan Zapaca Inga and depicts the Passing of Saint John of God. The composition features a haloed monk in a brown habit kneeling within a kitchen interior. Surrounding the central figure are various domestic elements, including a tiled floor, a stove with simmering pots, a cupboard filled with ceramic vessels, and a cat. In the upper left quadrant, a celestial monstrance appears amidst clouds. The work is presented in a modern wooden frame with a gilded inner slip and a cardboard backing secured with tape. A handwritten dealer label on the reverse identifies the item as a Rare Retablo.
