Large Blown Glass End-of-Day Parade Cane or Walking Stick - A substantial lampwork glass parade cane, often referred to as an End of Day whimsey or walking stick. The piece is constructed from clear or very faintly tinted glass, featuring a substantial hooked handle section finished with heavy spiral fluting. This handle transitions into a long, straight, smooth shaft. The opposite end tapers sharply to a narrow point, which is finished with continuous, tight spiraling ribbing, giving it the appearance of a large glass dip pen nib. The object is consistent with items found in the basement of an old estate in Elmira, NY, and is presumably Steuben, although it bears no visible maker's mark. Length: Approximately 39.5 inches
