Antique Blown Glass End of Day Parade Cane Whimsey - A single antique free-blown glass parade cane, often referred to as a glass whimsey or ”End of Day” object. The cane is constructed from clear glass, featuring a long, hollow, twisted stem terminating in a spherical bowl section. Internal decoration consists of swirling opaque white filigree lines running helically along the length of the stem and concentrated within the bulbous end, accented by thin pink/purple threads. This item is part of a collection reportedly found in the basement of an Old Estate in Elmira, NY, leading to the presumption of a connection to the Steuben glass tradition due to regional provenance. No discernible maker's marks or inscriptions are present.
