1986 United States Liberty Coins Silver Dollar and Half Dollar Proof Set - A 1986 United States Liberty Coins commemorative two-coin proof set issued by the United States Mint. The set includes one silver dollar and one copper-nickel clad half dollar, both struck at the San Francisco Mint as indicated by the S mint mark. The silver dollar is composed of .900 fine silver and features the Statue of Liberty with the Ellis Island Great Hall on the obverse and the statue's torch with an excerpt from Emma Lazarus' poem The New Colossus on the reverse. The half dollar features the Statue of Liberty against the New York skyline on the obverse and a group of immigrants at Ellis Island on the reverse. Both coins are housed in their original clear plastic protective capsules and presented in a blue velvet display case with a white satin-lined lid bearing the Great Seal of the United States. The lot includes the original printed specifications document from the United States Mint.
