The group includes specimens dated 1940, 1942, 1944, 1945, and 1946. The obverse design features Lady Liberty walking toward a rising sun with the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and HALF DOLLAR. Select examples display the D mint mark for the Denver Mint.
