An 18th or 19th Century Kaolin Clay Churchwarden Smoking Pipe - A long-stemmed white clay smoking pipe of churchwarden form, likely dating to the 18th or 19th century. The piece is constructed from kaolin clay, featuring an elongated, slightly curved stem terminating in a simple, tapered bowl. A small spur is present at the base of the bowl, bearing the relief-marked initials E S. The pipe displays a seasoned appearance with visible carbon deposits within the bowl and charring at the tip of the mouthpiece. Generalized surface staining and minor pitting are present throughout, consistent with historical use and age. The exceptionally long stem is intact.
