Item Overview

Description:

Mexican Sterling Silver and Inlay Cello Brooch
A Mexican sterling silver brooch designed in the form of a cello. The instrument features a polished silver frame, scroll, and fingerboard with four raised strings and an endpin. The body of the cello is set with a white, opaque inlay material. The reverse is stamped with the marks 925, MEXICO, and TL-92. The registration mark TL-92 indicates the item was produced in Taxco by a maker with the surname initial L. The brooch is fitted with a pin and a rollover safety catch mechanism.
Length: Approximately 3 inches.

The brooch is in good vintage condition with tarnish consistent with age. A visible hairline crack is present horizontally across the lower portion of the white inlay. All components are secure and the pin mechanism is in working order.
