A Pair of Vintage Berkshire Trails Massachusetts Souvenir Motorist Cap Trinket Boxes - This pair of miniature novelty containers is designed in the form of early 20th-century motorist or chauffeur caps, produced as tourism memorabilia for the Berkshire Trails region of Massachusetts. Each unit features a hinged metal lid with a die-stamped relief scene depicting an early touring sedan or limousine with a chauffeur standing beside the vehicle. The background of the scene includes a classical-style pavilion and a tree. The bases are composed of stitched leather with soft suede-like interior linings. The bottom of one leather base is printed with a Native American profile wearing a feathered headdress and the text Berkshire Trails Mass. The other base features an incised landscape scene depicting mountains and trees. These items are characteristic of early motor tourism souvenirs from the 1920s to 1930s.
