S.O. Bigney and Co. Gold-Filled Repousse Portrait Locket with Provenance - This gold-filled double-sided portrait locket was manufactured by S.O. Bigney and Co. of Attleboro, Massachusetts. The circular pendant features a scalloped perimeter and a simple jump ring bail for suspension. The front cover is decorated with a high-relief repousse design of a large leaf and several small five-petaled flowers, each set with a central colorless paste stone. The reverse side is engraved with a large script monogram letter A and two small floral accents at the top edge. The interior contains two circular bezel-set frames housing original sepia-toned photographic portraits of a woman in profile and a man. The interior bezel rim is stamped with the maker mark SO & Co. The item is accompanied by an olive-drab textured pouch with a metal snap closure and a handwritten provenance note on aged paper that reads: Helen Stage's grandma moore - to Peggy.
