European .835 Silver and Baltic Amber Circular Openwork Brooch - A circular openwork brooch featuring a large central cabochon of Baltic amber. The amber is a deep reddish-orange color and contains internal circular stress fractures known as sun spangles. The stone is secured within a silver frame decorated with an asymmetric botanical-inspired border consisting of scrolling tendrils and small silver spheres. The reverse of the frame is stamped with the silver purity mark 835 and an illegible maker's monogram. The piece is equipped with a horizontal pin stem and a revolving safety C-clasp. Approximately 1.5 inches (38 mm) in diameter.
