Description:

Sterling Silver and Black Ground Cameo Brooch with Classical Female Profile
A rectangular cameo brooch featuring a white carved relief of a classical female bust in profile facing right. The figure is shown with detailed hair styling including a headband and a bun. The cameo is set into a sterling silver frame with a decorative border of foliate leaves and four-petaled flowers at the corners. The reverse is marked on a raised plaque with the word STERLING. The piece is fitted with a horizontal pin stem and a rotating safety catch.
Height: 1.75 inches
Width: 1.375 inches.

Good vintage condition. The silver frame shows surface tarnish and patina consistent with age. The cameo is securely set. A small pinpoint inclusion is present on the lower shoulder of the white figure. The pin mechanism is functional.
