Description:

David-Andersen Sterling Silver and Guilloche Enamel Bermuda Tropical Landscape Brooch
A circular sterling silver brooch featuring a hand-painted tropical landscape over a guilloche enamel ground. The central scene depicts silhouetted palm trees and a shoreline against a lavender and pink sky with a radiating sunburst engine-turned pattern. The scene is enclosed within a black enamel border with a scalloped inner edge. The reverse is marked with the David-Andersen maker mark, 925S, STERLING, BERMUDA, and the retailer mark H.S. & J.E. C. for H.S. & J.E. Crisson. The piece is fitted with a horizontal hinged pin and a simple C-clasp.
Diameter: 1 inch (25 mm).

The brooch exhibits significant crazing and several fine cracks within the translucent enamel, most notably on the left side of the central scene. The black enamel border shows minor chipping and loss around the outer edges. The silver reverse has a heavy dark patina and tarnish.
