Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. 6 Gallon Crock - A large cylindrical 6 gallon stoneware crock manufactured by the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. of Red Wing, Minnesota. The vessel is constructed with a thick, rounded rim and finished in a light-colored Bristol glaze. The front of the crock features a large hand-painted cobalt blue numeral 6 indicating capacity, situated above a hand-stamped red-orange wing motif. At the base of the front, a blue oval stamp reads Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minn. The interior is glazed, while the underside of the base remains unglazed. The surface exhibits characteristic dark peppering and minor pitting from the firing process. Height: 14.75 inches Diameter: 12.5 inches.
