Victorian James Hinks and Son Hand Painted Blue Opal Glass Table Lamp - Victorian oil lamp manufactured by James Hinks and Son of Birmingham, England, subsequently converted for electric use. The lamp features a light blue opal glass body, commonly referred to as Bristol glass, decorated with hand-painted polychrome enamel depicting a crested bird perched on a flowering branch with pink blossoms and forget-me-nots. It is topped with a spherical frosted glass globe shade featuring acid-etched neoclassical vignettes and floral patterns. The brass burner assembly is stamped HINKS and SONS PATENT on the collar, and the adjustment knobs are marked with the maker stylized sun logo. The lamp is mounted on a stepped, black-finished weighted base with brass trim. It is currently fitted with a candelabra-base socket and a gold-toned power cord with a polarized plug.
