Rookwood Pottery Blue Matte Production Vase Shape 2088 Dated 1931 - An American art pottery production vase manufactured by the Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. This earthenware vessel features an ovoid form with a molded relief design consisting of vertical stylized petals. The shoulder is decorated with clusters of three raised bosses positioned between the petal sections. The exterior is finished in a mottled blue matte glaze. The underside of the base bears the impressed Rookwood factory mark featuring the RP monogram surrounded by fourteen flames. To the right of the mark are the impressed Roman numerals XXXI, indicating a production date of 1931. Below the date is the impressed shape number 2088. Has Hairline Crack see photos.
