Vintage Auto-Lite Sta-ful with Power Bond Advertising Thermometer - This is a mid-century vertical advertising thermometer produced for the Electric Auto-Lite Company to promote their Sta-ful battery line. The sign is constructed of painted tin-lithograph steel with a central glass thermometer tube containing red liquid. The design features a bright yellow field with high-contrast black lettering and graphics. The top section displays the Auto-Lite brand name above the Sta-ful with Power Bond product branding. A Fahrenheit temperature scale is printed in the center, ranging from -60 to 120 degrees, with a small number 44 visible near the 100-degree mark. The lower portion of the scale is marked Made in U. S. A. The base of the thermometer features a detailed illustration of an Auto-Lite battery, including text regarding its bonded construction and the marketing claim that it needs water only three times a year in normal car use. The reverse side includes a central wooden support strip designed to protect the glass components. Mounting holes are present at the top and bottom of the frame. Height: 26 inches Width: 7.75 inches.
