A Collection of Seven Ditmar Urbach Art Deco Alienware Pottery Items - This collection of seven earthenware pottery pieces was produced by Ditmar Urbach in Czechoslovakia during the 1920s and 1930s. Known as Alienware or Primitivist pottery, these items feature hand-applied glazes over molded bodies characterized by a heavy, intentional crackle effect. The glaze palette includes buff, yellow-green, and mottled brown tones, accented with bold relief-molded medallions and geometric bands in saturated orange-red and black. The assortment includes a large diamond-shaped footed centerpiece resting on a four-column pedestal base with a stepped plinth, a tall flared vase with vertical slit openings and a central sunburst medallion, a yellow-green vase with a black relief medallion and fin-like handles, a wide-rimmed vase with red diamond and oval medallions, a tapered vase with scrolling handles and a textured red base, a slender-necked vase with high shoulders, and a small ovoid vessel with mottled brown and white glaze. Markings include black ink stamps reading Made In Czechoslovakia and CZECHOSLOVAKIA, as well as incised numbers 6724 and IA 2120.
