An Eight-Piece Set of Mrazek Peasant Art Industry Hand-Painted Pottery, Czechoslovakia, circa 1920-1930 - This lot consists of an eight-piece set of hand-painted art pottery produced by the Mrazek Peasant Art Industry in Czechoslovakia. The collection includes one pitcher with a large loop handle, two tapered mugs with handles, one cylindrical lidded canister, one pedestal compote, one bulbous vase with a flared neck, one flower frog with multiple apertures, and one candlestick. Each piece is constructed from earthenware and features a vibrant orange-red color-washed ground. The decoration consists of hand-painted stylized floral motifs in blue, yellow, magenta, and green. Rims, handles, and pedestal bases are finished in a matte gunmetal gray glaze, while the interiors are finished in a glossy cream glaze. Several pieces bear a blue circular ink stamp reading PEASANT ART INDUSTRY around a stylized Mrazek signature and MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA. The vase features an impressed circular mark with CZECHOSLOVAKIA in an arc.
