Antique W.H. Teeling and Co. Pittsfield Massachusetts Wooden Milk Cracker Shipping Crate - This is a single vintage wooden shipping crate manufactured for W.H. Teeling and Co. of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The box is constructed from thick, rough-hewn wooden planks secured with nails and features a hinged lid reinforced with two horizontal wooden battens. The front of the crate displays a large multi-color paper lithograph label. The label includes the company name in red serif lettering with black drop-shadowing and the location on a black banner. The central illustration depicts a landscape scene with a lake, small boats, figures, and evergreen trees, flanked by golden wheat stalks. The label is finished with a teal-blue geometric border and red-and-gold scrollwork. The sides of the crate are stenciled in black ink with the text X MILK, identifying the original contents as milk crackers. The interior wood remains lighter in color than the oxidized exterior.
