A Collection of Six Czechoslovakian and Argentinian Hand-Painted Art Pottery Items - This collection consists of six pieces of hand-painted earthenware pottery from the early-to-mid 20th century. The group includes a pair of Art Deco style high-back candle holders featuring a yellow ground with stylized spiral floral motifs in orange, blue, and green. These pieces are incised with the number 10814 and bear a black stamp reading Made in Czechoslovakia Hand painted. A covered jar with a wicker-wrapped handle is produced by the Peasant Art Industry of Joseph Mrazek, decorated with floral blossoms on a dark teal green ground and marked with a circular blue stamp for Peasant Art Industry Made in Czechoslovakia and the mark 31313 G. A small pitcher from Letovice, Czechoslovakia, is decorated with blue flowers and orange fruit motifs, bearing a circular blue stamp and the number 24. The lot also contains two items from Argentina: a footed bowl with a brown geometric pattern on a cream ground and a small cylindrical pot with a matching ceramic spoon featuring an abstract floral design.
