American Primitive Eight Drawer Wooden Spice Cabinet - An American Folk Art spice or apothecary chest constructed from pine or a similar softwood. This one-piece cabinet features a vertical arrangement of eight small drawers organized into two columns of four. The exterior is finished in an old dark brown paint, while the drawer interiors and the back of the unit remain unpainted. The design includes a shaped crest rail with a central circular carved bullseye motif and a pre-drilled hole for wall mounting. Each drawer front is decorated with concentric circular moldings centered on a turned wooden knob pull. The drawers exhibit simple nailed construction characteristic of utilitarian folk furniture. The unpainted back of the chest shows a vertical pencil line and the handwritten numerals 21. No manufacturer stamps or incised marks are present. Height: 12 inches Width: 8 inches Depth: 4.5 inches.
