Heraldic Wax Seal Impressions on Max Krause Cardstock Featuring Wilhelm van Dedem - This lot consists of a single piece of heraldic ephemera featuring two red wax seal impressions mounted on manufacturer-marked cardstock. The primary circular seal displays the armorial bearings of Wilhelm van Dedem, a member of the Dutch nobility. The shield features three diagonal bands known as bends, surmounted by a barred helmet with extensive mantling and a crest. Raised lettering on the border of the seal reads Wilhelm van Dedem. A secondary oval seal is located at the bottom right and features a complex, likely quartered, coat of arms. Handwritten ink inscriptions on the face of the card include v. Dedem Wilhelm at the top right, C. Z. x Cutenberg? at the bottom right, and the numeral 5 at the top left. The reverse of the cardstock bears the printed marks of Max Krause, a luxury stationery manufacturer based in Berlin. Marks include the name Max Krause, M-K-Papier, a logo depicting a figure with a staff between the letters M and K, and the phrases Schutz-Marque Di, Reg. Trade, and Marca Reg.
