19th Century Dutch Armorial Wax Seal Specimen v. d. Kerkhof and v. Groenendijk - This heraldic wax seal specimen is mounted on a heavy buff-colored cardstock square. The red wax seal features a coat of arms with a shield containing a chevron between three small charges, possibly cinquefoils or hearts. The shield is topped by a barred helmet and a crest of two orbs or roundels, surrounded by ornate mantling. The specimen is secured to the mount with white paper strips. The card features several handwritten annotations in black ink and pencil. The front is inscribed with the names v. d. Kerkhof and v. Groenendijk, along with the reference number C.Z. 303. The reverse side includes pencil notations for Speelman, Gouda, and Mr G. v d Kerkhof, as well as an ink inscription reading Arm Gen I B No 932 and the notation Dupl. The annotations indicate the item originated from a genealogical collection in Gouda, Netherlands, possibly the Armorial General. Card: 3.75 x 3.75 inches Seal: 1.5 inches diameter.
