19th Century Dutch Heraldic Ephemera Card with Two Red Wax Armorial Seals, 1826 - This 19th-century Dutch heraldic collector's record card features two red wax armorial seals mounted on a buff-colored paper card. The front of the card displays a large, circular red wax seal centrally mounted with a horizontal paper hinge. The seal features a quarterly shield with various charges and a legend around the rim that includes the name GROENENDYCK. Extensive handwritten notations in dark ink surround the seal, identifying the families as van der Kerkhoven and Groenendijk, and referencing Gouda and the date 1826. Additional inventory or cataloging notes include 1-4 = K, 2-3 = Groen-, and C. L. Z. 202. The reverse side consists of a fragment from a printed Dutch document, likely a legal or official notice, containing text such as H. J. SCH...ING ASSISTEN, DELFT, OUDE, and GINNEKEN. A smaller, oval red wax seal with a simplified coat of arms is applied over this printed text. Marginal notes on the reverse include 2-3. sp. m. r. and op de rug v. d. kaart. 4 inches x 4 inches (10 cm x 10 cm).
