Bartholomeus van Hove. Manuscript Land Transaction Document. 1664. (Signed) - This seventeenth-century Dutch manuscript document, dated February 1, 1664, is a single-sheet legal record executed on laid paper in a quarto format. The text is written in a contemporary cursive hand and begins with the statement: Wij Bartholomeus van Hove and identifies Jacob Dircxz van Wassenaer. The document details a transaction for 200 rods of land for the sum of 800. The reverse side features a contemporary endorsement reading: 1664 den 1 february voldaen / over 200 roeden lants / en op dato betaelt daervoor 800. The document is authenticated by two distinct seals: an embossed paper tax stamp in the upper left corner depicting a crowned lion rampant within a shield, surrounded by the word KLEIN and the date 1654; and a pendent red wax seal attached by a parchment tag through the folded bottom edge.
