The seal is mounted within a hand-drawn black ink border in the shape of a heater shield. The paper mount contains several handwritten inscriptions and markings. In the upper right, two lines of cursive script read Van Raalte and Jacob Jansen; the first letter of the surname is a stylized V resembling an F. In the lower right, a hand-drawn house mark consisting of a vertical line bisected by two horizontal bars with serifed ends is present, matching the device centered on the wax seal.
