Bidspirit auction | A Group of 19th Century

A Group of 19th Century Dutch Genealogical and Nobility Manuscript Ledger Sheets - This collection consists of a group of approximately five double-sided handwritten manuscript ledger sheets, originally removed from a larger registry or index volume. The documents are executed in ink on cream-colored ledger paper featuring red vertical rulings. The pages are numbered 172, 173, 175, 176, and 179, with one unnumbered page. The content comprises detailed alphabetical lists of surnames, primarily of Dutch origin, organized by the first letter of the name with headers for H, P, and R. Many entries are accompanied by noble titles and honorifics, including Baron, Jhr. (Jonkheer), Brn (Baron), and Graaf (Count). Notable entries include Admiraal de Ruyter (entry 70 on page 179), Rothschild, van Reede tot Amerongen, van Pallandt, and Lord Holland. Several notations include the term vrouwel. (vrouwelijk), indicating gendered records. One entry on page 172 is specifically dated 1840. The cursive script is consistent throughout the sheets. Binding remnants are visible on the left edges of the pages. Each sheet measures approximately 14.5 x 9.5 inches.
