19th Century Historical Seal Cast of William II Count of Holland - This item is a historical seal cast replica of the equestrian seal belonging to William II, Count of Holland, who reigned from 1234 to 1256. The cast is composed of a dark green material, likely sulfur or a tinted plaster composition, designed to mimic the appearance of aged wax. The central relief depicts a medieval knight in profile on horseback, holding a falcon on his left hand, a traditional symbol of nobility. The circular border contains a legend in Lombardic script which reads GVILLELMVS COMITIS HOLLANDIE. The cast is mounted onto a circular tan cardboard backing. The reverse of the mount contains handwritten ink notes identifying the subject as 1245 William Count of Holland, with one word struck through in ink.
