1805 Napoleonic Era Dutch Heraldic Wax Seal Impression Landdrostambt van Amstelland - This item is a mounted heraldic wax seal impression from the Napoleonic era in the Netherlands. The circular red wax seal serves as the official mark of the Landdrost-ambt van Amstelland, Kwartier Hoorn (District Magistrate Office of Amstelland, Hoorn Quarter). The central heraldic device features a crowned quarterly shield set against a decorative mantle, with a star-shaped order or medal suspended from the base of the shield. The seal is affixed to a square of tan, fibrous cardstock. The mount includes several handwritten ink inscriptions: Ao 1805 at the top left, Amstelland (Hoorn) at the top right, and a full transcription of the seal text at the bottom center. Historically, this piece dates to the Batavian Commonwealth period, shortly before the establishment of the Kingdom of Holland under Louis Bonaparte.
