Boy Scouts of America Sterling Silver Eagle Scout Medal Robbins Type 4 with Bronze Palm and Mother Pin - A Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout rank medal, identified by the eagle pendant design and markings as a Robbins Type 4, produced approximately between 1955 and 1969. The medal features a sterling silver eagle pendant with the letters BSA on the front and a vertical STERL mark on the reverse of the tail feathers. The pendant is suspended by a ring from a tricolor red, white, and blue silk ribbon. The ribbon is mounted to a silver-toned scroll-shaped pin-back bar featuring the embossed motto BE PREPARED. Attached to the front of the tricolor ribbon is a bronze-toned leaf charm, signifying a Bronze Palm award for additional merit badges. A supplemental red and white ribbon with a silver-toned arrow pin, traditionally known as an Eagle Scout Mother's Pin or Parent's Pin, is attached to the upper suspension ring. The assembly includes a safety pin closure on the scroll bar and a secondary clutch-back pin on the reverse of the ribbon.
