WWI American Made 1914 Iron Cross Patriotic Medallion Chicago Die and Engraving Co - This World War I era patriotic souvenir medallion features a central relief of a 1914 issue Prussian Iron Cross. The cross design includes the royal crown on the upper arm, the initial W for Kaiser Wilhelm II in the center, and the date 1914 on the lower arm. The cross is set within a circular medallion with a raised rim and an ornate, integrated suspension loop at the top. The reverse is plain with a maker mark at the bottom edge. The item is manufactured from a copper based alloy with traces of white metal plating. The maker mark is inscribed as C.D. 2-417 DES. CO. CHICAGO, identifying it as a product of the Chicago Die and Engraving Company. Diameter: 24mm Total height: 32mm.
