Antique American Waltham Watch Co. 15 Jewel 18 Size Pocket Watch - This antique open face pocket watch was manufactured by the American Waltham Watch Co. The manual wind movement features 15 jewels, decorated plates, and is marked Safety Pinion. The movement is engraved with the manufacturer name and the serial number 14314962. The white enamel dial is marked Waltham and displays black Arabic hour numerals, a red outer minute track with five-minute indicators, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six o'clock position. The watch is housed in a Silveroid case produced by the Keystone Watch Case Co., which is a proprietary nickel-silver alloy. The interior of the case back is stamped with a keystone logo, Keystone Watch Case, Guaranteed Silveroid Genuine, and the case serial number 5894460. Several hand-etched watchmaker service marks are present on the inner case, including X2336 and 3527. The inner edge of the movement frame is stamped with the digits 94460. Materials for this lot are listed as Not Running. Case Diameter: 2 1/8 inches. The watch is in poor overall condition and is suitable for parts or restoration. The crystal is severely shattered with portions missing. The enamel dial shows surface grime and hairline cracks. The Silveroid case exhibits heavy surface scratching, scuffing, and wear consistent with age and use. The mechanical movement is not currently functioning.
