Rockford Watch Co. Grade Winnebago 17 Jewel 16-Size Gold-Filled Pocket Watch - An open-faced mechanical manual-wind pocket watch by the Rockford Watch Company, grade Winnebago. The 17-jewel movement is marked adjusted, double roller, and features serial number 674850. The white porcelain dial displays a cursive Rockford signature, black Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position, and a red outer five-minute track. The gold-filled case is decorated with floral engravings and an unmonogrammed central shield on the reverse. Internal case markings include the Fahys Bristol brand and Guaranteed 25 Years with case serial number 8297179. Multiple hand-scratched jeweler's service marks are present on the inner case back. This lot includes a gold-toned metal curb-link fob chain and a period velvet-lined presentation box from S.D. Burritt, Jeweler, 104 State St., Rochester, New York. The porcelain dial exhibits several fine hairline cracks, most prominently between the 10 and 11 o'clock positions and near the 5 o'clock position. The accompanying fob chain shows wear to the gold-toned plating. The presentation box is in poor condition with significant structural wear, fading, and fraying to the velvet and silk components.
