Elgin 17-Jewel Grade 313 Open-Face Pocket Watch, c. 1921 - An antique open-face pocket watch produced by the Elgin National Watch Company, Grade 313, dated to approximately 1921. The watch features a manual-wind, 17-jewel movement with a decorative damaskeened nickel finish, signed Elgin Natl Watch Co. U.S.A. with movement serial number 23859244. The white enamel dial presents bold black Arabic numeral hour markers, a peripheral minute track, and a sunken sub-seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. It is equipped with blued steel spade-style hands. The watch is housed in a Silverode case manufactured by the Philadelphia Watch Case Co., which is a durable nickel-silver alloy. The interior of the case back is stamped with the manufacturer crown logo and marked Philadelphia Watch Case Co., Silverode, and serial number 401047.
