Elgin National Watch Company Open-Face Pocket Watch - An open-face pocket watch produced by the Elgin National Watch Company. The timepiece features a white porcelain enamel dial with bold black Arabic hour numerals and an outer minute track with red Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals. A subsidiary seconds dial is positioned at the 6 o'clock mark. The dial is signed Elgin in a decorative script and is fitted with blued steel spade-style hands. The gold-tone metal case features a screw-back design. The interior of the case back is stamped with PENDANT, PAT OCT 29 17, 6526579, and EXC. The dust cover is engraved with the manufacturer name Elgin within a rectangular frame. Case Diameter: 1.75 inches. The watch is in running condition. The dust cover was not opened to prevent damage and will be left to the buyer to open; consequently, the internal movement has not been inspected. The dial shows a faint hairline crack between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions and minor surface staining. The gold-tone case displays overall surface scratching and moderate wear to the finish consistent with regular use.
