Lady Elgin 17 Jewel Manual Wind Wristwatch with Speidel Expansion Bracelet and Original Box - This vintage ladies wristwatch was manufactured by the Elgin National Watch Company. The model is a Lady Elgin featuring a gold-tone sunburst dial with silver-tone faceted indices. The dial is signed Elgin and 17 Jewels. The watch is powered by a manual-wind, 17-jewel mechanical caliber 731 movement. The movement plates are marked Elgin, USA, 17 Jewels, and 731. The case construction consists of a 10K yellow gold rolled gold plate bezel and a stainless steel back. The exterior of the case back is stamped 10K RGP Bezel Stainless Steel Back with a stylized B mark. The interior of the case back is marked Cased and Timed by Elgin National Watch Co. and features the Wadsworth Case Co. logo with the reference number 7340. The crown is signed Elgin. The watch is fitted with a gold-filled Speidel expansion bracelet. The underside of the links is marked Speidel Pat. 2,689,450, and the end links are marked 1/20 10KT G.F. Speidel. The lot includes the original red velvet Lady Elgin presentation box, which is decorated with an enameled heraldic crest on the lid. Case width: 15mm (excluding crown) Case length: 20mm. The watch does not run. The acrylic crystal is heavily scratched and exhibits several cracks. The case and bracelet show surface wear and localized loss to the gold plating consistent with vintage age. The dial displays light patina. The presentation box shows exterior wear and surface accumulation.
