C. Bucherer Swiss Art Deco 8-Day Mechanical Desk Clock - This Art Deco desk clock is manufactured by the Swiss firm C. Bucherer. It features a mechanical 8-day time-only movement. The case is designed with a diamond-shaped frame, likely of gilded metal, supported by two cylindrical silver-toned columns on a tiered rectangular base. The champagne-toned dial is set in a diamond orientation with a square inner minute track, applied Arabic numerals, and ornate Breguet-style hands. The dial is signed C. BUCHERER and 8 DAYS. The reverse of the movement housing includes a winding ring and setting knob and is marked C. BUCHERER and SWISS. Hand-scribed numbers 1/20 B2 are present on the reverse of the frame, with 1/10 appearing on the central housing. Height: 7.75 inches Base Width: 7.5 inches. The clock shows heavy oxidation, pitting, and tarnishing across all metal surfaces of the frame and base. The dial exhibits foxing and age-related darkening. The movement does not run and the mainspring is tight.
