Elgin Art Deco Open-Face Pocket Watch Size 12 - A vintage open-face pocket watch manufactured by Elgin, dating to the Art Deco period circa 1920s-1930s. The watch features a gold-tone, rounded-octagonal case with detailed foliate and floral engravings along the bezel and sides. The case back is decorated with vertical pinstripes, scrollwork borders, and a central unengraved shield-shaped cartouche. The gold-tone dial has a textured finish with a central circular guilloche-style pattern and features black stylized Art Deco Arabic numerals. A sub-seconds dial is positioned at the 6 o'clock mark. The dial is marked ELGIN within a rectangular frame above the center arbor. The timepiece is fitted with ornate blued steel cathedral-style hands. The manual wind movement is noted to be in running condition. Case diameter: 1.75 inches (approximately 44.5mm). Overall good vintage condition. The case shows light surface scratches and minor brassing to the gold-tone finish on high points of the engraving consistent with age and use. The dial exhibits light spotting and minor patina, notably between the 10 and 12 o'clock positions. The crystal is intact with minimal wear. Accuracy and longevity of the movement are not guaranteed.
