Elgin B.W. Raymond Grade 571 Railroad Grade Pocket Watch 21 Jewels 10K Gold Filled - An Elgin National Watch Company B.W. Raymond Grade 571 railroad grade pocket watch. The manual wind movement is inscribed ELGIN 571 U-S-A, U 622056, 8 ADJUSTMENTS, 21 JEWELS, and B.W. Raymond in cursive script. The movement plates exhibit several hand-scratched jeweler service marks. The watch features a white enamel dial with bold black Arabic numerals, a heavy outer minute track with triangular markers, and a recessed sub-seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The dial is marked ELGIN below the 12 with a star and dp DuraPower logo. The hands are blued steel spade and whip style. The open-face case is constructed of 10 karat gold filled metal with a ribbed coin-edge perimeter. The interior case back is stamped CASED AND TIMED BY ELGIN NATIONAL WATCH CO. surrounding a Keystone BOSS trademark, 10K GOLD FILLED, and serial number 33611. The interior case back also features an engraved name, John Caruana. This watch is in running condition. Diameter: 1.9 inches Size: 16s. The watch is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and regular use. The dial is exceptionally clean with no visible hairline cracks or chips. The 10 karat gold filled case shows expected surface scratches and minor thinning of the gold layer on the edges and the crown. The movement appears clean and free of oxidation.
