Elgin Art Deco 14K Gold Filled Ladies Manual Wind Wristwatch - This vintage rectangular ladies dress watch is produced by the Elgin National Watch Company. The case is constructed from 14 karat gold filled metal, manufactured by Keystone J. Boss, and features Art Deco scroll engravings along the lateral edges. The dial is an aged champagne color with black Arabic numerals and a rectangular minute track, bearing the ELGIN signature. The mechanical movement is a 17 jewel manual wind caliber marked Elgin-U.S.A. with serial number 35973309. The interior case back is stamped CASED AND TIMED BY ELGIN NATIONAL WATCH CO., KEYSTONE J. BOSS, 14K GOLD FILLED, and 97249. It includes several hand-scratched jeweler service marks, including dates 7-7-44 and 6-24-45. The watch is fitted with an expansion-style bracelet with gold filled tops and stainless steel backs. Case length: 26mm Case width: 12mm. Poor condition. The watch does not run and needs a crown. The winding crown is missing entirely. The crystal exhibits heavy scratching and the dial shows significant oxidation and darkening. The gold filled finish on the case is worn through in multiple areas. This item is sold as-is for parts or restoration.
