A Trio of Antique 12-Size American Pocket Watch Movements by Elgin and Waltham - This lot features three antique 12-size open-face pocket watch movements from prominent American manufacturers Elgin National Watch Co. and Waltham. These movements are uncased and intended for parts, restoration, or horological study. The first Elgin National Watch Co. movement, serial number 23844911, is a manual wind model. The nickel plates are decorated with fan-style damaskeening. It features a silvered dial with a vertical brushed finish, Art Deco style Arabic numerals, and a recessed subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The hour and minute hands are blackened steel spade-style. The second Elgin National Watch Co. movement, serial number 28856755, is a manual wind model with damaskeened nickel plates. The dial is gilt-toned with a vertical brushed texture, Art Deco Arabic numerals, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock. It features ornate blackened or blued steel hands. The Waltham Riverside movement, serial number 23063413, is a high-grade 19-jewel movement marked Riverside A and Adjusted 5 Positions. The plates feature intricate circular and scrollwork damaskeening. The silvered dial has a radiating sunburst guilloche pattern, applied gold-tone Arabic numerals, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock. It is fitted with ornate blued steel spade hands. Diameter: 1.5 inches (38.1 mm) / 12-size. Sold as movements only for parts or restoration. The working status of all three movements is unknown and untested.
