Bulova Excellency 21-Jewel 10K Gold Filled Manual Wind Wristwatch with Box, 1953 - Bulova Excellency wristwatch featuring a 10K gold-filled rectangular case with stepped shingled sides and an arched profile. The silvered two-tone bowtie dial includes applied gold-tone Arabic numerals and a subsidiary seconds sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position. The watch is powered by a caliber 7AA 21-jewel manual wind movement. It is fitted with a vintage gold-tone expansion band featuring a textured pyramid pattern. This lot includes a maroon velvet-lined Bulova Excellency presentation box with a cream-colored exterior base. The exterior case back is stamped 10K GOLD FILLED, BULOVA, L3, and 5588654. The interior case back is stamped BULOVA, FIFTH AVE, NEW YORK. The movement is stamped U.S.A., BULOVA WATCH CO., 7AA, and 21 JEWELS. The winding crown is signed BULOVA. Case size: 22 mm wide (excluding crown) x 38 mm long (including lugs). The dial shows a light, even patina with minor spotting throughout. The acrylic crystal has several visible surface scratches. The 10K gold-filled case displays general surface scratches and moderate brassing to the gold finish on the high points of the shingled sides and the tips of the lugs. The expansion bracelet shows stretching and surface wear. The movement appears complete and clean but has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy or long-term functionality.
