Halcyon Days Bilston and Battersea Enamel Equestrian Jockey Trinket Box - A Halcyon Days enamel on copper hinged trinket box produced in Bilston, Staffordshire, England. The oval box features a hand-painted lid depicting an equestrian scene with a jockey wearing red and white striped silks mounted on a bay horse within a green landscape. The background shows additional riders in the distance. The base and sides of the box are finished in a deep cobalt blue enamel. The interior of the lid is decorated with a brown transfer-printed image of a hunting horn entwined with floral sprigs. The box is secured with gold-tone metal mounts and a hinge mechanism. The underside is marked with a circular black backstamp reading Halcyon Days Bilston and Battersea Enamels Made in England. This item includes its original blue velvet-lined presentation box, which features a Royal Warrant for H.M. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and a historical insert. Width: 2 inches.
