Sterling Silver Liturgical Pocket Pyx with Chi-Rho and Alpha-Omega Monogram - This sterling silver pocket pyx is a liturgical vessel designed for the transport of consecrated hosts. The circular hinged case features an applied Chi-Rho monogram on the lid, flanked by the Greek letters Alpha (A) and Omega (Omega). These symbols represent Christ as the beginning and the end. The top of the case is surmounted by a ball and cross finial in a stylized bottony form. Two small loops are attached to the sides to accommodate a suspension cord for carrying. The interior is undecorated and shows signs of use. The reverse of the case is stamped with the marks STERLING and 925, confirming its metal purity.
