Large Vintage Articulated Rhinestone Tiger Shoulder Brooch - A large-scale articulated shoulder brooch designed in the form of a prowling big cat, likely a tiger. The piece is crafted from gold-tone base metal and is pave-set throughout with numerous round colorless rhinestones. The animal's stripes are defined by recessed channels of polished gold-tone metal. The head features two faceted green rhinestone eyes and a polished muzzle. The body and tail are composed of approximately 14 hinged segments, providing a high degree of articulation and movement. The reverse of the brooch has a textured bark or nugget finish. The piece is secured with two separate pin stems, each featuring a rotating safety clasp, positioned at the shoulder and the hindquarters to distribute weight. Two raised rectangular cartouches are present on the reverse, located behind the shoulder and on the upper tail, although any maker's marks within them are not clearly legible.
