A Collection of Vintage and Antique Mixed Metal and Porcelain Thimbles - An assortment of thimbles featuring a variety of materials and decorative styles. The collection includes silver-toned metal, brass-toned metal, and one porcelain example. The group consists of standard utilitarian forms with dimpled textures alongside novelty designs, including a seated toad and a small pitcher. Identifying features and marks observed include one brass-toned thimble embossed with TOLEDO around its base, a gold-toned thimble featuring an American flag motif, and a silver-toned thimble with the words FOR GOOD on the band. A miniature porcelain thimble decorated with floral motifs is presented on a display card labeled MADE IN AUSTRIA. The items span approximately 8 inches in width when laid out. Larger thimbles measure approximately 1 inch in height. The collection exhibits surface wear, tarnish, and patination consistent with age and use. Some metal examples show minor indentations and oxidation. The porcelain thimble and its associated card show light shelf wear.
