1972-S US Eisenhower Uncirculated 40% Silver Dollar - This lot features a 1972-S Eisenhower dollar struck in 40% silver at the San Francisco Mint. The coin is presented in its original United States Department of the Treasury Blue Ike government packaging, which consists of a blue textured outer envelope with the Treasury Department seal, an informational card, and a heat-sealed flexible plastic sleeve containing the coin and a blue identification token. The obverse features the portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the date 1972, and the S mint mark. The reverse features the Apollo 11 mission insignia design with the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR. The coin is composed of a 40% silver cladding over a copper-silver core. Diameter: 38.1 mm. Uncirculated. The coin displays original mint luster and notable peripheral rainbow toning on the obverse. The outer blue envelope shows minor handling wear and soft corners consistent with age. The internal plastic sleeve remains factory sealed and intact.
